Delivering the keynote address titled “Bringing Autonomous Driving into Real Life,” Dr. James Yu, Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of QCraft, described 2026 as the starting point of a “Golden Decade” for autonomous driving and the first year of what he termed “Superhuman Intelligence.”
Dr. Yu shared eight forward-looking predictions that illustrate how rapidly autonomous technologies are maturing. Among them, he forecast that intervention rates for Urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) would fall to monthly levels, reflecting dramatic improvements in system reliability. He also projected that insurance premiums for autonomous vehicles would be approximately 50 percent lower than those for human-driven cars, driven by measurable safety advantages.

Advancing Urban NOA at Scale
One of the most significant announcements of the day was the unveiling of QCraft’s next-generation QPilot 2.0 intelligent driving solution, delivering more than 500 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of computing power. Designed to support both L2 and L4 autonomous driving, QPilot 2.0 is built on a unified technical architecture incorporating Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and World Models.
These AI-driven frameworks enable a deeper understanding of complex driving environments and more adaptive decision-making. QPilot 2.0 is further strengthened by QCraft’s Autonomous Driving Super Factory, which provides closed-loop data collection, training, and validation, continuously refining system performance across real-world scenarios.
QCraft also revealed that its QPilot intelligent driving system has now been installed in more than 1 million passenger vehicles. The solution is currently deployed across 23 production models from nearly 10 major automakers, including Li Auto, GAC Group, and Chery. Looking ahead, more than 50 additional vehicle models are expected to launch with QPilot in 2026, signaling a new phase of accelerated scale-up and underscoring QCraft’s lead in mass production deployment.
Dr. Yu stressed that autonomous driving has no fixed endpoint. Instead, it will continue to evolve through successive technological paradigms, each bringing the technology closer to seamless integration into daily life.
One-Chip Urban NOA Enters Mass Production
Another milestone announced at QCraft Day was the start of large-scale mass production and delivery of the industry’s first one-piece, end-to-end Urban NOA solution powered by a single Horizon Robotics Journey™ 6M chip. This highly efficient architecture significantly reduces system complexity and cost while maintaining strong performance.
The solution has debuted on Li Auto’s 2025 L6 Pro, L7 Pro, L8 Pro, and L9 Pro models, establishing a new benchmark for accessible, high-performance Urban NOA. By lowering hardware and integration barriers, QCraft aims to make advanced autonomous features practical and inclusive for a broader segment of the automotive market.
Strategic Priorities for 2026 and Beyond
Looking to the future, QCraft outlined an ambitious global strategy centered on international expansion and deeper commercialization across multiple autonomous driving segments.
In the L4 domain, the company recently entered the unmanned logistics market through a strategic partnership with Chery Commercial Vehicle. Together, they are developing autonomous logistics solutions focused on cost efficiency, all-domain safety validated by over one million mass-production units, and comprehensive lifecycle services across diverse operating scenarios.
QCraft Day also marked the debut of the Robo-X platform, an Android-like ecosystem designed for autonomous vehicles such as Robobuses, RoboVans, and Robotaxis. Robo-X provides a universal technical foundation alongside a complete operational toolchain, enabling faster development, deployment, and scaling of autonomous mobility services.
Building a Global Autonomous Driving Footprint
