Geely Auto has released its latest global sales figures, highlighting a strong start to 2026 as the Chinese automaker continues to expand both domestically and internationally. The company reported that its global passenger vehicle sales reached 206,160 units in February, maintaining year-on-year growth for the second consecutive month at the beginning of the year. The performance reflects the company’s continued momentum in the highly competitive automotive sector and reinforces its position as one of China’s fastest-growing car manufacturers.
For the first two months of 2026, cumulative global sales totaled 476,327 units, demonstrating steady progress in line with the company’s long-term growth strategy. The sales momentum has been supported by a balanced portfolio of conventional vehicles and new energy vehicles (NEVs), along with a rapidly expanding international footprint.
Strong Growth Driven by New Energy Vehicles
A key contributor to Geely’s strong performance has been its expanding new energy vehicle lineup. NEV sales across the company’s major brands—including Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr—reached 117,488 units in February. This represented a 19 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
During the January–February period, Geely’s cumulative NEV sales reached 241,740 units, marking a year-on-year growth of 10 percent. The increasing share of electric and hybrid vehicles within Geely’s portfolio reflects the company’s commitment to electrification as global markets shift toward cleaner transportation technologies.
Geely has been investing heavily in battery technology, electric vehicle platforms, and intelligent mobility systems in order to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape. The strong NEV performance highlights the growing demand for electrified mobility solutions in both domestic and international markets.
Expanding Global Presence and Export Growth
Another major highlight of Geely’s February performance was the company’s dramatic growth in overseas markets. Exports reached 60,879 units during the month, representing an impressive 138 percent increase compared with February of the previous year.
The surge in overseas sales demonstrates Geely’s increasing competitiveness on the global stage. As the brand continues to strengthen its international distribution networks and introduce new products tailored to regional markets, it is steadily gaining recognition among global consumers.
A significant portion of the export growth has been driven by the increasing popularity of NEVs. Out of the 60,879 vehicles exported in February, 40,852 units were new energy vehicles, accounting for approximately 67 percent of total exports. This trend reflects Geely’s strategic focus on delivering high-value electric and hybrid models to overseas markets where demand for sustainable mobility is rapidly increasing.
“One Geely” Strategy Drives Product Innovation
Central to the company’s growth strategy is its “One Geely” initiative, which emphasizes collaboration across the group’s brands and divisions. By leveraging shared resources, technology platforms, and research capabilities, the strategy aims to accelerate innovation while improving product value.
Under this unified approach, Geely has been able to expand its premium product lineup and deliver vehicles that combine advanced technology, safety, and design. The company continues to focus on improving user experience and delivering high-quality mobility solutions that meet the evolving expectations of global consumers.
Key Models Driving Sales Performance
Within Geely’s growing NEV portfolio, several key models have emerged as major contributors to the company’s sales success.
The Geely EX2 has proven to be one of the brand’s most popular electric vehicles. Since its launch, cumulative global sales of the model have surpassed 610,000 units, making it one of the most successful vehicles in Geely’s electric lineup.
Another strong performer is the Geely EX5, which has exceeded 250,000 cumulative sales since its introduction. The model’s combination of practicality, advanced technology, and competitive pricing has made it attractive to consumers in multiple markets.
In addition, the Geely EX5 EM‑i—also known in some international markets as the Geely STARRAY EM‑i—has maintained consistent monthly sales of more than 10,000 units. Since its launch, cumulative sales of the model have surpassed 180,000 units, further strengthening Geely’s position in the electrified vehicle segment.
These vehicles represent the company’s efforts to deliver efficient, technology-rich mobility solutions that appeal to a broad spectrum of customers.
Entry into New International Markets
As global adoption of electric vehicles continues to accelerate, Geely has been actively expanding its NEV presence in international markets. The company is steadily increasing the proportion of electrified vehicles in its overseas lineup, ensuring that its product portfolio aligns with global trends in sustainability and emission reduction.
One of the latest market expansions took place in Greece, where the Geely EX5 EM-i was officially introduced. This model became the second new energy vehicle offered by Geely in the Greek market following the earlier launch of the fully electric Geely EX5.
The introduction builds on the success of the EX5, which ranked second among all brands in its segment in Greece during the second half of 2025. The addition of the EX5 EM-i further broadens Geely’s NEV portfolio in the country and strengthens its position in the European market.
Strengthening Presence in Central Asia
Geely is also making significant progress in Central Asia, particularly in Uzbekistan. In a coordinated market entry initiative, the company simultaneously launched three models in the country: the Geely EX5, the Geely EX5 EM-i, and the Geely Monjaro.
The launches support the modernization of Uzbekistan’s automotive sector while also promoting the development of a green mobility ecosystem in the region.
To support its expansion, Geely has already established multiple sales and service outlets across Uzbekistan. The company is also planning to collaborate with local partners to establish KD (knock-down) assembly operations. This approach will allow Geely to build a regional supply chain and production base that can serve the broader Central Asian market.
Local assembly initiatives are expected to strengthen the company’s competitiveness by reducing production costs and improving supply chain efficiency while creating new opportunities for local industrial development.
Enhancing After-Sales Service Infrastructure
Alongside product launches and market expansion, Geely is investing heavily in customer service and after-sales infrastructure. In Uzbekistan, the company has established a central spare parts warehouse covering nearly 1,000 square meters.
This facility supports service centers across the country and ensures that more than 95 percent of required spare parts are readily available at service outlets. Efficient parts availability is critical for maintaining high customer satisfaction and ensuring fast vehicle servicing.
Over the next three years, Geely aims to achieve full network coverage in major cities across Uzbekistan. The goal is to create a comprehensive ownership experience that includes vehicle purchasing, maintenance, and after-sales support throughout the entire lifecycle of the vehicle.
Expanding NEV Strategy in the Middle East
Geely’s global NEV expansion has also reached the Middle East. The Geely EX5 EM-i was recently launched in the United Arab Emirates, marking a new phase in the company’s regional electrification strategy.
The introduction of the model reflects growing demand for hybrid and electric vehicles in the region, as governments and consumers increasingly focus on sustainable mobility solutions.
Commitment to Safety and Global Standards
A key pillar of Geely’s international strategy is maintaining rigorous safety standards. The EX5 EM-i has achieved strong recognition in global safety testing programs.
The vehicle received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP in December 2025. In February 2026, it also earned a five-star rating from ANCAP.
These achievements demonstrate the company’s commitment to delivering vehicles that meet the highest international safety standards. Strong safety credentials are particularly important for building consumer trust as Geely expands into new global markets.
Recognition for Sustainability Leadership
Beyond vehicle innovation and market growth, Geely has also been recognized for its progress in sustainability and corporate responsibility. The company was selected for the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026, an annual publication that highlights leading companies based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
Among the eight global automakers included in the 2026 edition of the yearbook, Geely stood out as the only Chinese automaker represented. The company was also recognized as the “Industry Mover,” an award given to organizations that demonstrate significant improvement in sustainability performance within their sector.
This recognition reflects Geely’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into its manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and product development strategies.
