The Ford Motor Company board has appointed Adriana Cisneros as its newest director, effective immediately, thereby expanding the board to 15 members. Adriana Cisneros has been at the helm of Cisneros Group since assuming the role of CEO in 2013. Established in 1929 in Venezuela by her grandfather Diego Cisneros as a transport business, Cisneros Group has evolved significantly over its 95-year history. Under Adriana Cisneros’ leadership, succeeding her father Gustavo Cisneros, the company has achieved global prominence in digital advertising, media and entertainment, and real estate sectors.
Adriana Cisneros will contribute her expertise to the Ford board’s Nominating and Governance, as well as Sustainability, Innovation, and Policy committees.
Bill Ford, Executive Chair, expressed enthusiasm about Cisneros joining the board, highlighting her success in modernizing a family-led business through innovative thinking and unconventional strategies. He emphasized the relevance of her experiences as Ford transitions to compete in a dynamic new era for the automotive industry.
Beyond her leadership at Cisneros Group, Adriana Cisneros brings extensive board experience, serving on boards of Mattel Inc., AST Spacemobile Inc., and the Paley Center for Media, and as a trustee of the Knight Foundation. She is deeply involved in supporting arts and education, contributing actively to institutions like the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, where she serves on the Latin American Acquisitions Committee.
Adriana Cisneros holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a master’s degree in journalism from New York University. She is a Henry Crown Fellow and has completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
