Nikola Expands Hydrogen Network with New HYLA Station in Los Angeles

Nikola Corporation (Nasdaq: NKLA), a global leader in zero-emissions transportation and energy infrastructure solutions, is expanding its HYLA brand by launching a new refueling station to support the increasing deployment of Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks in Southern California. Located at Tom’s Truck Center in Santa Fe Springs, just off the busy 5 Freeway, the new HYLA modular refueling station begins operations today. This marks another step towards Nikola’s goal of establishing 14 refueling stations by the end of the year, through both HYLA and partner stations.

Nikola continues to strategically launch stations and deploy assets in line with anticipated demand, ensuring that hydrogen fuel cell electric truck fleets have access to reliable fueling solutions.

“Nikola is committed to leading the hydrogen revolution by collaborating with key industry partners to strengthen and expand our hydrogen supply chain,” said Ole Hoefelmann, President of Energy. “Growing the HYLA refueling infrastructure is central to meeting the rising demand for hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks and advancing zero-emission transportation.”

Nikola also emphasizes customer support, offering round-the-clock assistance through HYLA Ambassadors and Operation Technicians to ensure seamless fueling experiences.

Tom’s Truck Center, which plays a key role in Nikola’s sales and service network, is excited to be the first dealership in the U.S. to offer onsite hydrogen refueling. “This partnership aligns perfectly with Tom’s Truck Center’s long-term commitment to zero-emission transportation,” said KC Heidler, President and CEO of Tom’s Truck Center.

The HYLA refueling network aims to provide diverse solutions for Nikola’s hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and other Class 8 customers, including modular and permanent stations, behind-the-fence options, and strategic partnerships, such as with FirstElement Fuel in Oakland, Calif.
