Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) continues its strong commitment to enhancing health and quality of life in local communities with the installation and operationalization of three new water purification units in Ramanagara District. The new units, located in Benne Halli, Kodiyala Karenahalli, and Chennemaregowdanadoddi, will provide significant improvements in access to clean drinking water for these communities. These units serve as a crucial resource, ensuring consistent access to safe drinking water, especially in areas with a high demand for potable water.
Each water purification unit has a capacity of 1,000 liters per hour and features a six-stage filtration system that includes Activated Carbon Filters, Multimedia Filtration, 5 Micron and 1 Micron filters, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and UV filtration. This process ensures the highest standards of water quality. The units are powered by renewable energy (solar), promoting sustainable operations. Furthermore, the maintenance of these units will be overseen for 15 years by the Grama Panchayat and a dedicated maintenance agency.
The new installations are expected to benefit approximately 21,000 villagers across 15 villages, representing a significant advancement in TKM’s ongoing efforts to improve community living conditions. Since the beginning of this initiative, TKM has installed a total of 51 water purification units across India, providing safe and reliable drinking water to over 350,000 people in 312 villages.

Since 2001, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been a core aspect of TKM’s philosophy. With a strong focus on scalability and sustainability, TKM and its employees voluntarily engage in various initiatives centered around five key areas: Education, Environment, Health & Hygiene, Road Safety, and Skill Development. Recent initiatives include supporting healthcare needs through the Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Community Health Centre in Bidadi, Karnataka, which includes an oxygen-generating plant for specialized care. Programs like school-based health and hygiene initiatives, such as the ABCD (A Behavioural Change Demonstration) and the Toyota Shaale Arogya Program, have significantly improved health outcomes in the community. In the fiscal year 2022-23 alone, these programs positively impacted over 64,000 people. To date, TKM has reached more than 2.3 million beneficiaries through its diverse CSR efforts, ensuring meaningful contributions to society by aligning with community needs and national priorities.
