Faraday Future Launches ‘Faraday X’, Signs OEM Deals for Affordable AIEVs in U.S.

Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (Nasdaq: FFIE), known as FF, has announced the launch of its second brand, Faraday X (FX), as part of its global expansion strategy. The FX brand aims to make Advanced Intelligent Electric Vehicles (AIEVs) more accessible to the mass market, with the slogan “Co-create, an AIEV for Everyone.” Through initiatives like open-source collaboration, co-creation, and shared development, FX seeks to offer affordable AIEVs with advanced technology found in the luxury FF 91 model, targeting a price range of $20,000 to $50,000.

FX plans to debut two models: the FX 5, a sporty AIEV priced between $20,000 and $30,000, and the FX 6, a luxury family AIEV priced between $30,000 and $50,000. Both models will feature either range-extended AIEV or battery-electric AIEV powertrains. These vehicles will focus on solving common electric vehicle challenges, including high costs, range anxiety, and the need for smarter in-car experiences. The FX vehicles are expected to launch by the end of 2025, depending on securing necessary funding.

To support its U.S. market entry, Faraday Future has signed strategic framework agreements and memoranda of understanding with four Chinese OEMs. The aim is to integrate global supply chains and promote Range-Extended AIEVs (RE-AIEVs) in the U.S., complementing FF’s luxury lineup with more affordable options.

FX’s unique approach focuses on light marketing, sales, and a fully online direct sales model. Users will also play a central role in defining and co-creating the FX products, driving innovation and personalization. FF’s strong legacy in technical development and domestic manufacturing will empower FX, while FX’s mass-market appeal is expected to enhance FF’s overall capabilities and efficiency.

As part of its user engagement efforts, FF recently completed the first phase of its online survey, revealing strong demand for cost-effective AIEVs in the U.S. FX will continue to build on this feedback, with plans for a logo design competition and further surveys. The company also hinted at potentially changing its stock symbol from FFIE to FFAI to reflect its growing AI-driven ecosystem.

With FX, Faraday Future aims to democratize AI-powered electric vehicles, making them affordable for all, while balancing personal and family needs through smart, user-defined features. By addressing the gaps in the current EV market and tapping into the largely untapped RE-AIEV sector in the U.S., Faraday X is poised to capture a significant share of the future AIEV market.
