FluidLogic Secures $15M Series A Extension Led by Solyco Capital for High-Performance Hydration Innovation

FluidLogic, a pioneer in high-performance hydration systems, has announced a $15 million Series A Extension financing round led by Solyco Capital, a private equity firm specializing in funding late-stage startups and growth companies. The company focuses on developing advanced in-vehicle hydration solutions that ensure optimal hydration for peak performance.

This latest investment will support new product development and innovations aimed at the adventure sports and outdoor endurance markets, with consumer products set to launch in early 2025. Research indicates that even a 1% drop in hydration can result in a 12% decline in performance, while a loss of 3-4% in hydration may lead to a 25-50% reduction in productivity (Source: PubMed). Notably, a study conducted by Dr. David Ferguson, an Associate Professor at Michigan State University, revealed that elite race car drivers utilizing FluidLogic’s system improved their lap times by an average of 5 seconds.

“Hydration is essential for peak performance. It enhances reaction times, maintains focus, boosts endurance, and helps prevent overheating,” stated Sara Blackmer, FluidLogic’s CEO and Senior Partner at Solyco Capital. “Solyco, one of the world’s leading private equity firms, aligns with our vision to innovate Active Hydration™ solutions for high performers. This investment will enable us to extend our hydration expertise to a wider consumer audience.”

In addition to product development, the funding will enhance roles in R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, and will support improvements to FluidLogic’s current in-vehicle systems. It will also finance further research to refine the accuracy and reliability of the company’s proprietary sweat-loss algorithm across various consumer applications.

Since Solyco’s initial investment in 2021, FluidLogic’s valuation has skyrocketed by 1,000%. Among its investors are notable figures such as NBA All-Star and 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist Jrue Holiday, NFL Pro Bowler Kyle Rudolph, U.S. Soccer star Lauren Holiday, and professional drivers Jimmie Johnson, Colton Herta, and Ryan Arciero.

Jimmie Johnson, a FluidLogic user and investor, remarked, “FluidLogic has been essential to my success from the start. I’ve witnessed its evolution from off-road racing to NASCAR and IndyCar. It’s exciting to see my feedback incorporated into product improvements, and I look forward to my continued involvement as they expand their offerings.”

This Series A Extension follows a $1.9 million Tactical Funds Increase (TACFI) from the U.S. Air Force aimed at creating intelligent wearable and in-vehicle hydration systems to enhance military personnel’s water intake and overall performance. This builds on a previous $750,000 contract with the Department of Defense in 2022.
