The Advanced Technology Research Council’s (ATRC) commercialization branch, VentureOne, has introduced SteerAI, an advanced AI-driven mobility solution designed to transform conventional industrial vehicles into autonomous units. Initially targeting logistics and defense sectors, SteerAI offers a comprehensive hardware kit, software suite, and fleet management platform that equips autonomous ground vehicles to handle complex tasks with high precision and efficiency. This not only reduces operational costs and time but also enhances workforce safety. The technology was developed by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ATRC’s applied research arm.
H.E. Faisal Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President and Secretary General of ATRC, highlighted the importance of this development: “The launch of SteerAI marks a pivotal step in establishing the UAE’s leadership in autonomous technology. At ATRC, our mission is to continuously innovate, and SteerAI is a prime example of how groundbreaking research is translating into impactful real-world solutions.”
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of TII, further emphasized the technology’s impact: “We haven’t merely built an autonomous vehicle; we’ve created an ‘intelligent brain’ for it. Our advanced navigation algorithms, paired with state-of-the-art sensors, form a modular system that’s adaptable to any vehicle and capable of transforming transportation as we know it.”
SteerAI’s autonomous vehicles navigate efficiently between set points with minimal downtime, equipped with software that, combined with sensor systems, enables rapid hazard detection, obstacle avoidance, and seamless operation in challenging terrains and unmapped locations.
Beyond autonomous navigation, SteerAI’s software enables remote fleet management, allowing for mission planning, monitoring, and data-driven analytics to optimize vehicle deployment and performance.

SteerAI is VentureOne’s second initiative following AI71, launched in November 2023, which delivers business solutions using TII’s Falcon generative AI models.
