LiveWire, a leader in electric motorcycles, and KYMCO, a renowned global powersports company, are thrilled to announce an expansion of their strategic partnership to develop an electric maxi-scooter aimed at the European market. This collaboration will harness both companies’ unique strengths, integrating LiveWire’s advanced S2 powertrain to deliver a powerful, convenient electric riding experience. The electric maxi-scooter is expected to launch in the first half of 2026, providing customers with the benefits of LiveWire’s performance and range in a commute-friendly, adventure-ready vehicle.
Building on a partnership that began in 2022 with KYMCO’s investment in LiveWire, this new agreement further combines the expertise of both brands. LiveWire CEO Karim Donnez noted, “Our vision to create a class-leading maxi-scooter using the S2 Arrow powertrain has turned into a reality, thanks to KYMCO’s expertise and support.”
As a top-tier manufacturer of premium internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters and a leader in EV scooters, KYMCO brings valuable experience to this project, enhancing LiveWire’s global presence in electric mobility. KYMCO’s legacy of innovation, seen in products like the RevoNEX electric street bike and the Ionex swappable battery system, further supports LiveWire’s mission to develop a cutting-edge maxi-scooter.
We are excited to partner with Livewire as they venture into the S2-based electric maxi-scooter market,” said Allen Koi, Chairman of KYMCO.
This collaboration continues Livewire’s development of the S2 portfolio, with plans to use the S2 Arrow powertrain as the foundation for a premium electric maxi-scooter, debuting a new design and form factor for Livewire. Designed for a global audience, the launch is anticipated in the first half of 2026.
