These developments signify the company’s commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainable mobility, reinforcing its standing as a leader in the automotive industry. With advanced features and diverse powertrain options, Nissan aims to enhance its market performance, bolster customer loyalty, attract new buyers, increase profitability, and drive long-term growth.

Expanding Powertrain Options to Meet Consumer Demand

Recognizing the increasing consumer demand for varied powertrain options, Nissan is set to introduce a diversified lineup featuring hybrid technologies—including e-POWER and plug-in hybrid models—next-generation electric vehicles (EVs), and highly efficient internal combustion engines (ICE). This strategic move will provide consumers with more choices tailored to different driving needs, thereby strengthening the brand’s competitive edge in North America.

Guillaume Cartier, Nissan’s chief performance officer, emphasized the importance of this new direction, stating, “Today, we unveil our redefined market approach and tailored product strategy designed to better meet customer needs and drive top-line growth. Through powertrain diversification and new models, we will provide a broader range of options that cater to diverse customer preferences, further distinguishing Nissan and INFINITI brands.”

Echoing this sentiment, Ivan Espinosa, chief planning officer, highlighted Nissan’s commitment to continuous innovation. “Over the next two years, we are excited to roll out an impressive lineup that will redefine the road! This includes the reimagined Nissan LEAF, and a daring new Micra EV. But that’s not all – we’re refreshing our range of SUVs to elevate the driving experience, and our next-generation e-POWER promises new levels of refinement and efficiency. We are committed to investing in products that embody the very best of Nissan. To our passionate fans and loyal owners around the world, I can assure you, this is just the beginning of an exciting journey ahead.”

Strengthening Market Position in North America

A Look at the Future: Nissan and INFINITI’s Upcoming Lineup

In a bold move, Nissan plans to introduce over 10 new and refreshed models across key segments in the U.S. and Canada. These include next-generation EVs, hybrid models, and exciting updates to the INFINITI lineup.

FY25: The Start of a New Era

Among the most anticipated releases, the U.S. and Canada will be the first markets to receive the all-new Nissan LEAF. Redesigned as a sleek and spacious family-friendly crossover, the third-generation LEAF promises enhanced aerodynamics, advanced EV architecture, and a host of new features. This will be the first time the LEAF is available with 19-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic moonroof, catering to a growing demand for stylish, high-tech electric vehicles.

For North American consumers, the LEAF will also feature a NACS charging port, making it compatible with Tesla’s Supercharger network. Built on Nissan’s modular CMF-EV platform, which debuted with the Ariya, the new LEAF will integrate an efficient 3-in-1 EV powertrain, optimizing energy management, driving performance, and range. Additional details will be announced mid-year.

Another major highlight is the introduction of Nissan’s first plug-in hybrid for North America—a PHEV version of the popular Rogue SUV. This addition aligns with Nissan’s commitment to expanding hybrid technology in the region.

Further strengthening its lineup, Nissan will launch a new generation of its best-selling Sentra compact sedan, while the mid-size Pathfinder SUV will receive a comprehensive refresh.

For INFINITI, a refreshed three-row luxury QX60 SUV will be introduced, along with a SPORT package for the flagship QX80 SUV, enhancing its appeal among premium vehicle buyers.

FY26: Expanding Hybrid and Crossover Offerings

By FY26, Nissan will commence production of the all-new, fourth-generation Rogue. As the company’s first U.S.-market model featuring e-POWER technology, the Rogue will cater to consumers seeking an advanced hybrid option. In addition to e-POWER, the Rogue will be available with a powerful and efficient internal combustion engine, as well as a plug-in hybrid variant, ensuring that customers have access to a wide range of choices within the segment.

INFINITI will also introduce the highly anticipated QX65 crossover coupe, a stylish two-row alternative inspired by the pioneering INFINITI FX. This new model is expected to make waves in the competitive mid-size crossover segment.

FY27 and Beyond: The EV Revolution

Looking further ahead, an all-new Nissan EV will begin production at Nissan’s Canton, Mississippi plant in late FY27. Designed as an adventure-focused SUV, this model will appeal to consumers looking for both sustainability and versatility.

By FY28, INFINITI will launch its own luxury EV SUV, inspired by the Vision QXe concept. This model will blend the brand’s distinctive Artistry in Motion design philosophy with an array of state-of-the-art technology features, setting a new standard in the luxury electric vehicle market.

Nissan’s investment in EV production will be further bolstered by its recent agreement with SK On. Both of the upcoming EV models will be powered by U.S.-manufactured batteries, contributing to 1,700 American jobs and involving a total investment of $661 million, including equipment purchases. This is in addition to Nissan’s $500 million commitment to enhancing EV production at the Canton Assembly Plant.

Next-Generation e-POWER: A Step Toward Efficiency and Performance

A cornerstone of Nissan’s future strategy is its third-generation e-POWER hybrid system, which incorporates insights gained from over 1.6 million units produced since its debut in 2016. The new system is set to deliver a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency at high speeds compared to the current generation, along with reduced emissions and enhanced refinement.

The unique e-POWER technology utilizes a small gasoline engine and a lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor, ensuring an EV-like driving experience with smooth, powerful acceleration and minimal noise. Central to this advancement is the introduction of a 1.5-liter e-POWER dedicated engine and a new 5-in-1 powertrain system, sharing key components with Nissan’s latest EV technology.

The third-generation e-POWER system will make its North American debut in FY26 with the next-generation Rogue.

A Bright Future for Nissan and INFINITI

Nissan’s bold roadmap for the future reflects its unwavering dedication to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. With a comprehensive mix of EVs, hybrids, and advanced ICE models on the horizon, Nissan and INFINITI are poised to redefine the driving experience in North America. More details on each upcoming model will be shared as launch dates approach, ensuring that customers remain at the forefront of cutting-edge automotive technology.
