Aston Martin Vantage S Redefines the Front-Engine Sports Car Standard with Enhanced Power, Precision, and Craftsmanship
Aston Martin proudly unveils the new Vantage S, the most performance-focused iteration in its celebrated Vantage lineup. Building on the dynamic foundation of the existing Vantage—a car already regarded as the benchmark among front-engine luxury sports cars—the Vantage S raises the bar further. With enhanced power, finely tuned driving dynamics, and refined styling both inside and out, it sets a new standard for the marque’s front-engined sports car range.
This latest offering continues Aston Martin’s historic tradition of designating its most performance-oriented variants with the ‘S’ suffix. Following the recent debut of the DBX S, the Vantage S represents the next chapter in this legacy. The lineage began with the Vanquish S, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2004, and continued with the critically acclaimed V8 and V12 Vantage S models introduced in 2011 and 2013.
Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Aston Martin, emphasized the significance of the Vantage nameplate, stating, “For decades, Vantage has symbolized performance, emotion, and exhilarating driving. When we launched the latest generation last year to global acclaim, our objective with the Vantage S was to surpass that success. The result is a class-defining ultra-luxury sports car that showcases the talent and ambition driving Aston Martin forward.”
Thrilling Powertrain: 680PS and 800Nm of Pure Performance
At the heart of the Vantage S lies a re-engineered version of Aston Martin’s 4.0-litre V8 Twin-Turbo engine. This revised powertrain delivers 680PS at 6000rpm and 800Nm of peak torque between 3000rpm and 6000rpm, ensuring instantaneous throttle response and robust mid-range acceleration.
Performance metrics see measurable improvements: the Vantage S sprints from 0–60mph in just 3.3 seconds, while 0–124mph (200km/h) is achieved in 10.1 seconds. The top speed remains an impressive 202mph, maintaining its status among the world’s quickest front-engine sports cars.
Launch Control optimization has played a key role in the acceleration gains, while throttle pedal calibration has been meticulously adjusted. Engineers tuned the pedal’s weight and resistance to complement a custom drive-by-wire throttle map, creating a more intuitive and rewarding connection between the driver and the machine—especially noticeable across different Drive Modes.
Chassis and Suspension Revisions: Sharper Handling, Greater Ride Comfort
The Vantage S benefits from a comprehensive array of chassis enhancements, encompassing both hardware and software changes designed to amplify agility, steering response, and ride compliance.
Aston Martin’s engineers refined the Bilstein DTX adaptive damping system, increasing front-end feel and responsiveness while reducing rear spring aid stiffness. This balancing act improves low-speed ride quality without compromising high-speed precision. Additionally, the transmission mount stiffness has been reduced by 10%, improving refinement by allowing more natural powertrain movement relative to the chassis.
One of the most notable changes is the direct mounting of the rear subframe to the body, eliminating rubber bushings. This upgrade significantly sharpens steering feedback and road feel. Suspension geometry has also been meticulously revised—adjustments to camber, toe, and caster improve cornering grip, high-speed stability, and dynamic balance.
These updates result in a car with exceptional composure through corners, translating the driver’s inputs into confident, rewarding action on any road or track.
Aerodynamic Evolution: Beauty with Purpose
The exterior design of the Vantage S is a harmonious fusion of aesthetics and aerodynamics. At the front, centrally mounted bonnet blades, available in gloss black or 2×2 twill carbon fibre, not only enhance the vehicle’s aggressive appearance but also serve a crucial function—venting heat from the engine’s ‘hot-V’ turbocharger configuration.
Along the flanks, subtle ‘S’ badging on the front fenders provides a handcrafted touch. Forged in brass and filled with red glass enamel, each badge is individually crafted, with chrome plating in either a bright or dark finish, matching the finish of the Aston Martin wing emblems specified by the customer.
At the rear, a full-width decklid spoiler sets the Vantage S apart visually while adding 44kg of rear downforce at top speed. In total, the car now produces 111kg of downforce at Vmax, with the front end maintaining a bias in aerodynamic balance to support high-speed cornering stability. Underbody enhancements, including a new front airdam and venturi vanes, contribute a further 67kg of downforce, ensuring high-speed confidence and consistent grip.
Striking Wheels and Refined Interior: Crafted for Enthusiasts
Visually underscoring its performance credentials, the Vantage S offers a bespoke 21-inch Y-spoke wheel design in satin black, featuring red wheel graphics that echo the red enamel detailing of the ‘S’ badging. Bronze-painted brake calipers complete the package with a refined contrast.
Inside the cabin, the Vantage S continues its bespoke theme. The standard interior features a unique ‘Accelerate’ theme, combining Alcantara® and leather materials with carbon fibre inlays. The lightweight, motorsport-inspired interior enhances the car’s sporting credentials while offering premium tactility and visual appeal.
Each seat is embroidered with a matching red ‘S’ emblem, requiring over 2,500 stitches and 16 meters of thread, showcasing Aston Martin’s commitment to craftsmanship. The iconic Aston Martin wings are also optionally sculpted into the headrests using an advanced embossing and debossing technique that applies 1.5 tonnes of pressure, delivering a crisp and luxurious detail.
Customers can choose between red or silver anodised finishes for the drive mode rotary control, coordinated with contrast stitching, seatbelts, embroidery, and welts—creating a cohesive design throughout the interior.
For those seeking even more opulence, the optional Inspire Sport interior is available with full semi-aniline leather or a combination of semi-aniline leather and Alcantara®, offered in monotone or duotone colorways. A distinctive chevron-quilted pattern with perforated accents evokes motion and speed, bringing the performance ethos into the cabin.
Global Debut and Availability
The Aston Martin Vantage S is set to make its global dynamic debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, tackling the iconic hill climb in front of an audience of motorsport enthusiasts from around the world. As a marquee event in the British motoring calendar, Goodwood serves as the ideal stage for the Vantage S to showcase its performance capabilities.
The model is available to order now in both Coupe and Roadster forms, joining the existing Vantage lineup. First customer deliveries are expected to begin in Q4 2025.
