Centro, a leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer known for its advanced, market-validated, and purpose-built vehicles, has announced the launch of its newest Class 4 vehicle, the Logistar® 450 (“LS450”). This model will be available for sale and distribution in the United States and global markets. Centro has secured both a California Air Resources Board (“CARB”) Executive Order and a Certificate of Conformity from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”), confirming that the LS450 meets the emissions standards set by the Clean Air Act.
The CARB Executive Order certifies that the all-electric LS450 is classified as a zero-emissions vehicle in California. Centro plans to start production of the LS450 at its assembly facility in Ontario, California, for the US market, while the global market production will take place in its Chinese facility.
The LS450 is the latest addition to Centro’s product line, boasting a 128kWh battery capacity, offering a significantly greater range than its predecessor, the LS400. The vehicle will debut at the California Trucking Show in Ontario, California, on October 5-6, 2024. The versatile Class 4 electric vehicle comes in four configurations to serve various needs: a delivery van (LS450DV), cargo truck (LS450CT), shuttle bus (LS450BUS), and refrigerated truck (LS450RT).
“Introducing the LS450 to both US and international markets will enable our customers to electrify their fleets, regardless of size, with a versatile, multifunctional electric commercial vehicle,” said Peter Wang, Chairman and CEO of Centro. “We’ve already received pre-production orders for the LS450 from clients in the US, Spain, and Japan, with US production set to begin in October 2024 at our Ontario facility.”
