Dongfeng Motor Corp. Secures Deals for Over 1,800 Units at Eighth China-Eurasia Expo

The 8th China-Eurasia Expo commenced on June 26, 2024, in Urumqi, Xinjiang, marking a significant event for Dongfeng Motor Corporation. The company actively participated, fostering exchanges and collaborations to align projects, forge partnerships, and explore new market opportunities.

During the expo, Dongfeng Motor Corporation hosted a notable overseas product promotion and customer signing ceremony, targeting clientele from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and other nations. They showcased several flagship products, including the DONGFENG GX, a high-end heavy truck comparable to European models, certified under the EU’s WVTA and OTTC standards for seamless travel across Eurasia. The DONGFENG KL, featuring an expansive 1150L fuel tank capable of spanning Central Asia on a single fill, also drew attention. Additionally, the DONGFENG KC PRO series, encompassing 6×4 and 8×4 models, received OTTC certification. Dongfeng Motor Corporation exhibited a diverse array of commercial vehicles tailored specifically for the Central Asian market.

The expo proved fruitful for Dongfeng Motor Corporation as they secured significant deals, including five major contracts overseas and two domestically. These agreements translate to sales exceeding 700 units internationally and 1,100 units within China.

A staunch supporter of China’s Belt and Road initiative, Dongfeng Motor Corporation has accelerated its overseas expansion, notably in Central Asia. From January to May, their vehicle exports to these regions surged by 71% year-over-year, with shipments through Xinjiang ports experiencing an impressive 207% year-over-year growth.

Overall sales have been robust, with Dongfeng selling 1.043 million vehicles during the same period, marking a healthy 19.9% year-over-year increase that surpasses industry averages. Notably, sales of new energy vehicles saw a remarkable 118.1% year-over-year surge, totaling 299,000 units. Sales of their proprietary brands also rose significantly by 45.5% year-over-year, reaching 545,000 units.

Dongfeng Motor Corporation remains committed to developing the Xinjiang and Central Asian markets, responding to market demands by introducing high-quality, high-performance products. Through strategic promotional activities and signing events, Dongfeng continues to showcase its latest technological advancements, expand its network of partners, and contribute actively to the Belt and Road initiative’s progress.
