Electra Commercial Team Set to Participate in LME Week

Electra Battery Materials Corporation (NASDAQ: ELBM; TSX-V: ELBM) (“Electra” or the “Company”) is excited to announce that its commercial team, led by Vice President Michael Insulan, will actively engage in London Metal Exchange (LME) Week from September 30th to October 4th, 2024. LME Week is a significant gathering that brings together professionals from the metals supply chain to discuss market trends, forecast future developments, and network with industry peers. During this event, Electra’s representatives will focus on strengthening relationships within the battery supply chain, discussing long-term collaborations, and highlighting Electra’s pivotal role in the North American electric vehicle (EV) materials supply chain.

Michael Insulan, Electra’s Vice President of Commercial, shared, “LME Week is an essential part of our commercial strategy and provides a timely platform to update our partners on recent milestones. One of the key achievements of interest will be our recent production of technical-grade lithium carbonate, offering high-quality, North American-made materials. Additionally, our formation of Aki Battery Recycling, an Indigenous-led initiative for closed-loop battery materials recycling, underscores our commitment to sustainability.”

“As the EV sector in North America continues to expand, our Ontario refinery is uniquely positioned to be the first of its kind,” Insulan continued. “We will be the first to produce cobalt sulfate in North America and offer recycling services to numerous gigafactories emerging in Ontario and beyond.”

Electra’s immediate priority is the recommissioning and expansion of its Ontario cobalt refinery. Looking ahead, the company plans to extend its operations by refining additional critical minerals in North America, including creating a closed-loop system for recycled battery materials, establishing a second cobalt sulfate facility in Bécancour, Quebec, and developing a nickel sulfate refinery to supply battery-grade nickel for both North American and global EV markets.

Electra Battery Materials

Electra is focused on producing low-carbon, ethically sourced battery materials. Its primary initiative is the development of North America’s only cobalt sulfate refinery, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the EV supply chain within North America. This includes integrating black mass recycling, potential cobalt sulfate processing in Quebec, and exploring nickel sulfate production. For further details, visit www.ElectraBMC.com.
