Ewoyaa Lithium Project Secures EPA Permit

A leading North American lithium product supplier, crucial to the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain, has announced that Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted an environmental permit to the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana. This project is being developed in collaboration with Atlantic Lithium Limited (AIM: ALL, ASX: A11). In August 2023, the company exercised its option to acquire a 22.5% stake in the Ewoyaa Project, pending government approvals, as part of a phased investment agreement to secure a 50% equity interest in Atlantic Lithium’s Ghanaian lithium assets.

This announcement was originally released by Atlantic Lithium, whose official statement can be accessed here.

Piedmont Lithium’s Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Brindle, highlighted the significance of obtaining the EPA Permit, calling it a key milestone for the project’s progress. He praised Atlantic Lithium’s commitment to responsible development and expressed gratitude to both the EPA and Atlantic Lithium for their efforts. Brindle further noted that Piedmont looks forward to the ratification of the mining lease for Ewoyaa, followed by the project’s construction, subject to final approvals and market conditions.
