FPT and Subaru Sign MoU to Drive Innovation in Automotive Manufacturing

Global technology company FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Subaru Corporation, a major Japanese transportation conglomerate, to form a strategic partnership focused on driving innovation and development. Through this MoU, FPT Software will utilize its technological expertise and global experience to enhance digital transformation for Subaru’s in-house information systems and in-car systems. This collaboration will cover areas such as factory software development, legacy system modernization, system operation automation, infrastructure improvement, and cybersecurity, while also integrating advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

FPT Software also aims to build a robust ecosystem to provide a skilled workforce for Subaru by leveraging Vietnam’s abundant human resources and educational institutions. Additionally, the two companies plan to engage in personnel exchanges and joint events to further strengthen their partnership. This collaboration has the potential to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in both Vietnam and Japan, aligning with Subaru’s goal of achieving 50% of its sales from battery EVs by 2030.

“With our high-quality resources and strong technological expertise, FPT Software is confident in helping Subaru achieve a leading position in manufacturing innovation and value creation. We plan to allocate 200 people to support Subaru in 2025 and look forward to a more comprehensive partnership,” said Do Van Khac, Senior Executive Vice President of FPT Software and CEO of FPT Japan.

This partnership with Subaru enhances FPT Software’s reputation as a trusted partner for digital transformation within the automotive industry and expands its influence in Japan. With over a decade of experience in the automotive sector, FPT Software has a global team of 4,000 automotive software engineers and experts, and it further strengthened its focus by launching FPT Automotive in 2023. In Japan, FPT Software is the largest foreign-invested tech firm by human resources, with 3,500 employees across 17 local offices and innovation hubs, and nearly 15,000 employees globally. The company also leads the Vietnam Association of Digital Transformation in Japan (VADX Japan), aiming to enhance competitiveness and establish unique global positions for both Vietnam and Japan in a technology-driven future.
