The Excellence 1000 Index identifies the most innovative, customer-centric companies in all walks of life, with businesses that are successful in achieving financial success while balancing such success with ethical practices, social responsibility, and sustainability. The Newsweek Excellence 1000 Index, in collaboration with reliable global data partners, rated more than 25,000 companies, selecting 5,200 for inclusion in this ranking. From those 5,200, it chose 1,000 for the 2025 list. Among those was IonQ, ranked among the top 25% of this ranking. Just three years have passed since IonQ went public.

Methodology
To identify the top 1000 companies for the Excellence 1000 Index, companies were evaluated based on several criteria including Employee rating, Customer rating, ESG risk rating, ESG/Ethical impact, Adherence to ISO standards, R&D spending, Global Compact Status, Financial performance, BBB Rating and Accreditation, Number of customer complaints among others. Each of the criteria considered is equally ranked in importance.
