Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd proudly announces that the New Nissan Magnite has been awarded a 5-star overall safety rating by the Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP), reinforcing its commitment to passenger safety and global quality standards.
Manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai facility, the New Nissan Magnite is exported to over 65 countries under the brand’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy, catering to both right-hand-drive (RHD) and left-hand-drive (LHD) markets. The RHD version sold in India and South Africa underwent rigorous GNCAP crash testing and emerged with a top-tier 5-star rating for adult occupant protection and a 3-star rating for child occupant protection, achieving an impressive overall 5-star passenger safety rating.
Launched in October 2024, the New Nissan Magnite was tested under GNCAP’s enhanced protocols, which include evaluations for frontal and side impact protection, electronic stability control (ESC), pedestrian protection, and side pole impact protection — requirements for achieving the highest safety ratings.
Robust Engineering and Advanced Safety Technologies
The Magnite impressed with its robust build, innovative design, and comprehensive safety suite. Its improved body structure incorporates 67% high tensile strength steel (>440Mpa), and it offers over 40 standard safety features including:
- Six airbags
- ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Traction Control System (TCS)
- Hill Start Assist (HSA)

Further enhancing safety, all variants of the Magnite now come equipped with three-point seatbelts for all occupants, ISOFIX child seat mounts, child locks, seatbelt reminders, and rear parking sensors — all as standard.
