Mercedes-Benz USA Appoints Adam Chamberlain as New CEO, Succeeding Dimitris Psillakis in Strategic Leadership Transition

Mercedes-Benz has announced a pivotal leadership change in its North American operations. Effective July 1, 2025, Adam Chamberlain will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) and Head of Marketing and Sales for -Benz Cars North America. Chamberlain will succeed Dimitris Psillakis, who will transition into a new position as Senior Strategic Adviser through the end of the year. His global experience and strategic insight have shaped his tenure at MBUSA, where he has served as Head of Sales for North America since late 2020 and CEO of MBUSA during a period marked by industry upheaval, global supply chain disruptions, and accelerated shifts toward electrification and digital transformation.

Under Psillakis’s guidance, Benz strengthened its dealer relationships and modernized its customer-facing operations. He championed digitalization initiatives that enhanced the customer journey, both online and in dealerships. Most recently, Chamberlain served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Lithia & Driveway, one of the largest dealership groups in North America. In that role, he oversaw the operational performance of more than 300 dealerships across the United States and managed more than $30 billion in annual revenue. His tenure at Lithia provided him with deep insight into the dealership landscape, customer engagement, and large-scale retail operations—expertise that will be critical to driving MBUSA’s performance in the years ahead.

Prior to his role at Lithia, Chamberlain was President of Aston Martin The Americas, where he led the iconic British luxury brand’s operations in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. He is also no stranger to Benz, having served from 2016 to 2021 as Vice President of Sales and Product Management at MBUSA. During that time, he played a pivotal role in steering the brand’s product strategy, supporting dealer operations, and optimizing retail sales in one of the company’s most dynamic and competitive markets.

In his new role, Chamberlain will oversee MBUSA’s more than 1,600 employees and its nationwide network of over 380 dealer partners in the U.S., as well as 200 employees and 59 dealers across Canada. His mandate includes driving growth across the company’s evolving product portfolio, deepening customer relationships, and continuing to expand Benz’s footprint in electric mobility and digital services.
