Morgan Truck Body Strengthens Leadership to Drive Next Phase of Growth and Innovation

Morgan Truck Body, recognized as North America’s largest manufacturer of light- and medium-duty dry freight and refrigerated truck bodies, has announced the appointment of two seasoned executives to key leadership roles. The move reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it continues to expand its operational capabilities, enhance manufacturing efficiency, and drive long-term strategic growth.

The company has named Vik Shah as its new President, succeeding outgoing President Corby Stover, who is retiring after a distinguished tenure marked by significant contributions to Morgan’s growth, operational excellence, and strong market positioning. In addition, Kevin Hoban has been appointed Senior Vice President of Operations, where he will oversee a broad range of critical functions across the organization.

Together, these leadership appointments position Morgan Truck Body to further enhance its manufacturing network, optimize operations, and continue delivering high-quality solutions to customers across North America.

Leadership Transition and Strategic Continuity

The appointment of Vik Shah as President marks a new chapter for Morgan Truck Body, while maintaining continuity in its strategic direction. Shah brings more than three decades of global manufacturing leadership experience, with a strong track record of driving operational efficiency, financial discipline, and sustainable growth.

In his new role, Shah will oversee all commercial and operational aspects of Morgan’s business. This includes leadership of the company’s extensive manufacturing and service footprint, which spans 14 manufacturing facilities and eight service centers across the United States and Canada. His responsibilities will include driving performance, enhancing customer relationships, and aligning operations with long-term strategic priorities.

“Vik’s track record of driving sustainable growth in the highly competitive automotive landscape makes him the ideal leader to guide Morgan into its next chapter of innovation and market leadership,” said Norb Markert, President and Chief Operating Officer of J.B. Poindexter & Co. (JBPCO), the parent company of Morgan Truck Body. “We look forward to working closely with Vik to continue shaping and executing our strategic vision and plan for Morgan Truck Body.”

This endorsement underscores the company’s confidence in Shah’s ability to lead Morgan through evolving industry dynamics, including increasing demand for efficiency, electrification trends, and advancements in logistics and fleet solutions.

Vik Shah’s Extensive Manufacturing Leadership Experience

Vik Shah’s appointment reflects a strategic choice to bring in a leader with deep expertise in global manufacturing operations and technical innovation. Most recently, Shah served as President of Piston Interiors, a division of Piston Group. During his tenure, he focused on improving operational performance, strengthening financial discipline, and driving sustainable growth within a highly competitive market environment.

Before joining Piston Interiors, Shah held the position of Group President at The Woodbridge Group, where he oversaw a vast manufacturing network comprising 35 plants across nine countries. His leadership there involved managing large-scale operations, optimizing global supply chains, and ensuring consistency in quality and performance across multiple regions.

In addition to his operational leadership roles, Shah also served as Chief Technical Officer at The Woodbridge Group. In this capacity, he was instrumental in aligning engineering innovation with customer needs. He implemented structured development processes designed to ensure that new technologies translated into tangible business value, bridging the gap between research and real-world application.

His combined experience in operations, engineering, and strategy positions him well to lead Morgan Truck Body into a new phase of innovation. His leadership is expected to support the company’s continued focus on delivering durable, high-quality truck body solutions while improving efficiency across its manufacturing footprint.

Driving Operational Excellence Across North America

As President, Shah will play a critical role in advancing Morgan Truck Body’s operational excellence initiatives. With 14 manufacturing locations and eight service centers, the company operates one of the most extensive truck body production and service networks in North America.

His leadership will focus on optimizing production processes, improving supply chain resilience, and ensuring that the company continues to meet the evolving needs of its customers. The trucking and logistics industries are undergoing rapid transformation, with increasing emphasis on efficiency, sustainability, and advanced vehicle technologies. Under Shah’s guidance, Morgan Truck Body aims to strengthen its ability to respond to these changes.

Operational excellence will also include enhancing manufacturing consistency across facilities, reducing waste, and leveraging data-driven decision-making to improve overall performance. Shah’s background in managing large-scale, global operations will be instrumental in aligning Morgan’s facilities with best practices across the industry.

Kevin Hoban Takes on Expanded Operational Leadership Role

Alongside Shah’s appointment, Morgan Truck Body has named Kevin Hoban as Senior Vice President of Operations. Hoban brings more than 34 years of operational leadership experience across the automotive and office furniture sectors, with a strong background in lean manufacturing, automation, and cost optimization.

In his new role, Hoban will oversee key operational functions, including Production Control & Customer Care, Purchasing & Customer Support, Advanced Manufacturing, Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Safety. His responsibilities will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring a strong safety culture across the organization.

Hoban’s leadership is expected to play a key role in streamlining processes, improving throughput, and supporting Morgan’s broader growth objectives. His expertise in lean manufacturing will help identify opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies and optimize workflows, ultimately contributing to improved productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Extensive Industry Experience at Lear Corporation and HNI

Hoban brings a wealth of experience from his long tenure at Lear Corporation, a global automotive technology leader. Over 28 years, he held several executive positions, including Vice President of Operations in both the United States and Europe. He also served as Vice President of the Chrysler/BMW North America Business Unit, where he gained deep insight into complex automotive supply chains and customer requirements.

Following his time at Lear, Hoban joined HNI Corporation, where he spent six years overseeing office furniture operations. In this role, he reported directly to the CEO and was responsible for leading large-scale manufacturing operations, further strengthening his expertise in operational management and organizational leadership.

Hoban’s diverse background across multiple industries provides him with a broad perspective on manufacturing excellence, process optimization, and customer-centric operations. His experience will be invaluable as Morgan Truck Body continues to scale its operations and enhance its service offerings.

Positioning for Future Growth and Innovation

The leadership appointments of Vik Shah and Kevin Hoban come at a critical time for Morgan Truck Body as the company seeks to build on its strong market position and pursue new growth opportunities. The commercial vehicle industry is experiencing significant shifts driven by technological advancements, changing customer expectations, and increasing demand for efficiency and sustainability.

Under Shah’s leadership, Morgan is expected to continue investing in operational improvements, advanced manufacturing technologies, and process innovation. His focus on aligning engineering capabilities with customer value will be key to ensuring that the company remains competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

At the same time, Hoban’s operational expertise will support initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing safety across the organization. Together, the two leaders bring complementary skills that will help Morgan Truck Body navigate industry challenges while capitalizing on emerging opportunities.

Morgan Truck Body’s continued success is closely tied to its ability to deliver reliable, high-quality truck bodies that meet the needs of fleet operators, distributors, and commercial customers across North America.
