Parella Motorsports Holdings and SpeedTour
Parella Motorsports Holdings and SpeedTour™, collectively recognized as the leading organizers of grassroots motorsports events across the United States, have embarked on a transformative new chapter with the acquisition of Racing America. Racing America is widely regarded as one of the foremost digital-first motorsports media platforms, offering live-streaming services, exclusive video content, and continuous coverage of amateur, grassroots, and stock car–adjacent racing. With this acquisition, the Company has created a powerful and unified ecosystem that integrates national racing events with best-in-class digital media capabilities—positioning the new Racing America as the most expansive grassroots motorsports media and events platform in North America.
A New Era of Integration: Unifying Live Events and Digital Reach
The acquisition creates a rare alignment between a massive live-event portfolio and an established digital content distribution network. The merged entity will now operate under the Racing America brand and will be headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina — a city long considered the unofficial home of American motorsports. By bringing together live racing series, digital streaming technology, and storytelling capabilities, the unified platform aims to change how fans engage with grassroots racing.
Parella Motorsports Holdings and SpeedTour bring with them a robust portfolio of nationally recognized racing properties, including the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, Formula Regional Americas, Formula 4 United States Championship, Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), Ligier Junior Formula, and International GT. Meanwhile, Racing America contributes an established digital ecosystem that includes livestreaming infrastructure, original programming, year-round editorial coverage, and a direct-to-consumer streaming model that already resonates with grassroots racing fans.
Together, these assets enable the combined organization to offer continuous, multi-channel coverage — from trackside competition to digital storytelling — creating a 360-degree motorsports experience unmatched in the North American grassroots market.
Velocity Capital Management’s Strategic Vision
The acquisition of Racing America is the Company’s third significant transaction under the ownership of Velocity Capital Management, a private equity firm known for its “hands-on” operational focus and deep domain expertise across sports, entertainment, and media. Velocity acquired Parella Motorsports Holdings and SpeedTour in December 2023 and immediately initiated a growth strategy centered on expanding the Company’s event portfolio and enhancing its digital capabilities.
That strategy materialized quickly through acquisitions such as MotorsportsReg.com, a leading registration and fan engagement platform, and International GT, a racing series dedicated to late-model Porsche and Ferrari vehicles. Each acquisition strengthened the Company’s infrastructure, audience reach, and capabilities.
The Racing America transaction marks the most significant step yet — transforming the Company from a live events business into a vertically integrated motorsports entertainment powerhouse.
Velocity’s strategic partner, the Texas Permanent School Fund Corporation, also played a crucial role in identifying and facilitating the Racing America opportunity through its longstanding industry relationships. Its ongoing support, both financially and strategically, will continue to accelerate the Company’s expansion into new content formats, markets, and fan engagement channels.
Leadership Perspective: A Defining Milestone for Grassroots Racing
Lee Giannone, CEO of the newly expanded Racing America, emphasized the strategic significance of the acquisition.
“This acquisition marks a defining moment in our evolution and the next chapter for grassroots racing in this country,” Giannone said. “By combining our national live-events platform with Racing America’s digital capabilities, we’re creating the foundation for the future of motorsports — one that connects fans and competitors year-round, expands global reach, and positions Racing America as the definitive home for grassroots and professional racing alike.”
Giannone’s remarks reflect a bold vision: a platform that removes the boundaries between in-person events and digital engagement.
Enhancing the Fan Experience: A Fully Connected Ecosystem
The merger promises to redefine fan engagement by uniting Racing America’s media production capabilities with SpeedTour’s expansive event schedule. Fans will now have access to:
- More livestreamed events than ever before
- Enhanced race-day production quality
- Original documentary-style programs
- Behind-the-scenes storytelling
- Exclusive access to drivers, teams, and track moments
- Racing content available year-round across digital channels
Colin Smith, President of Racing America, underscored how this new era will deepen the platform’s connection with fans.
“This marks a new era for Racing America as we expand from a digital media platform into a fully connected motorsports network,” Smith said. “With Velocity Capital Management’s support, we will broaden our content and technology offerings, stream more live events, and deliver the rich storylines that motorsports fans want to see.”
The expansion paves the way for Racing America to operate not just as a broadcaster, but as a centralized destination for everything happening across the grassroots racing landscape.
Driving Growth and Accessibility Across the Motorsports Community
For Velocity Capital Management, improving accessibility remains a core priority. Erin Edwards, Partner at Velocity, highlighted how Racing America’s capabilities can broaden the reach of amateur and grassroots motorsports.
“Racing America is uniquely positioned to accelerate fan interest and participation in grassroots and amateur motorsports,” Edwards said. “Our goal is to make grassroots racing accessible to everyone while providing passionate fans with more ways to engage with the sport they already love.”
This includes lowering barriers to entry for emerging drivers, expanding visibility for local tracks, and enabling more fans nationwide to discover grassroots racing through high-quality digital content.
In conjunction with the acquisition, Jeffrey Wolf — a Velocity Operating Partner and a former media executive at E.W. Scripps and Sony Pictures — will assume the role of Chairman of the Board. Wolf brings decades of experience in media strategy, content distribution, and audience development.
“Transforming the Company from an events business into a broader motorsports entertainment platform is central to our growth strategy,” Wolf said. “Today’s fans expect compelling storytelling, premium production, and behind-the-scenes access. With Racing America, we can deliver all of that — and more.”
What’s Ahead: The New Racing America Brand
Following the acquisition, the entire organization will transition to operate under the Racing America brand name. Under this unified identity, the platform will offer:
- A nationwide calendar of live racing events
- Premium digital production and broadcast capabilities
- Exclusive original programming
- Documentary-style features and driver profiles
- Growing direct-to-consumer subscription offerings
- New opportunities for sponsors, partners, and racing organizations
- Expanded fan engagement through modern digital technologies
This consolidation under one brand creates consistency, strengthens market presence, and signals the platform’s ambition to become the definitive digital and live destination for motorsports fans.
2026 Season Kickoff
Racing America’s next season will officially begin on February 26, 2026, at Sebring International Raceway, one of America’s most iconic and historic racing venues. The event will serve as the first major showcase of the newly unified platform, demonstrating the Company’s commitment to enhanced production quality, expanded coverage, and deeper storytelling that brings fans closer to the action than ever before.
