PowerFlex Installs Hundreds of Charging Stations Nationwide for DHL Express as the Company Electrifies Its Fleeta

a national provider of intelligent solar, storage, and EV charging solutions for commercial customers, completed the installation of 415 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) for DHL Express, the world’s leading provider of international express shipping services. The chargers, installed at DHL service centre facilities in major U.S. markets, are equipped with PowerFlex X, energy management software that monitors, tracks, and reports on charging activities, integrating with DHL’s telematics platforms to optimize Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) operations. The initiative demonstrates the commitment of DHL to sustainability as the company electrifies its fleet to reduce its climate impact and foster eco-friendly operations. DHL is the first logistics company to commit to a zero-emissions target, and their fleet electrification is an important step in their green logistics plan.

The initiative demonstrates the commitment of DHL to sustainability as the company electrifies its fleet to reduce its climate impact and foster eco-friendly operations. DHL is the first logistics company to commit to a zero-emissions target, and their fleet electrification is an important step in their green logistics plan.

PowerFlex completed the first installation with DHL in 2020 and customized the EVSE design and posterior bones
to optimize the charging experience around the diurnal delivery operations of DHL. The charging stations were installed above to keep them out of the vehicles ’ path of trip, yet remain accessible for motorists to plug in at the end of the day. By reviewing the logistical requirements of each line depot, PowerFlex recommended that DHL install Level 2( L2) charging stations, which are generally more dependable, economically priced, and lower power- ferocious than position 3 DC Fast Dishes. Another advantage of PowerFlex Level 2 dishes is the capability to increase the number of dishes onsite to enable unborn expansion or give spare dishes as a backup if necessary.

PowerFlex L2 dishes are equipped with Adaptive cargo operation( ALM), intelligent energy operation software that balances the power operation across the network of dishes to minimize precious harpoons in energy demand. With ALM, DHL was suitable to install double the number of dishes in comparison to unmanaged charging with the same power limit and onsite mileage structure. also, by mollifying harpoons in energy demand, ALM is the grid-friendly EV charging technology that helps help overtaxing the electricity grid.

“ DHL is taking a thoughtful approach to espousing new ‘ fueling ’ for its business requirements and exploring the possibilities offered by in-house EV charging, ” said Raphael Declercq, CEO of PowerFlex. “ We’re proud to work with DHL to support their line electrification. PowerFlex’s platoon understands the critical significance of icing that last- afar delivery vans are completely charged to support on-time deliveries while meeting DHL’s line sustainability pretensions. ”

For these EVSE systems, PowerFlex handed DHL with a full suite of services, including point feasibility assessments, turnkey design and installation, tackle and software results, and asset operation and operations and conservation services.
