Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:7282) plans to open a new plant in Harohalli, Karnataka, India, to support the increasing demand for automobiles in the country. This facility, a branch of Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd., will begin production in 2026, focusing on safety systems like airbags and steering wheels, as well as interior and exterior products such as console boxes.
The growing production capacity of Japanese automakers, Toyoda Gosei’s key customers, is driving demand for these products.
The new plant will adopt Toyoda Gosei’s innovative manufacturing methods, using collaborative robots, karakuri technology, and energy-efficient electric molding machines. Additionally, the existing Techno Park Plant will expand its capacity to produce bumpers, instrument panels, and other interior and exterior components, optimizing the company’s production network in southern India.
India is a vital market for Toyoda Gosei, with increasing demand for airbags driven by rising traffic fatalities and the expanding automotive market.
