In continuation to its unwavering dedication to enhancing community well-being and uplifting living standards, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today inaugurated two community-oriented water purification units in the villages of Magadi and Guddahalli, Ramanagara District, Karnataka. Considering the urgent drinking water requirements, these facilities will serve as crucial lifelines for local community members in ensuring the availability of safe and pure drinking water, benefitting over 22,000 lives across 12 villages.
The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA of Magadi, Shri. H C Balakrishna, along with Mr. T R Parasuraman, Executive Advisor, EA (State), TKM and Roshan R, Deputy General Manager, EA-State, CSR & BIA, TKM were present at the event.
Each of the newly established units has the capacity to purify up to 1000 litres of water per hour through a comprehensive 6-stage purification process. Enabled with real-time water monitoring that provides valuable data on Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and PH values, these units are also equipped with solar systems, power backup, and wastewater management for efficient and eco-friendly operation. To ensure smooth functioning and sustainability, the company has entered into a 15-year maintenance agreement with a dedicated agency to ensure clean drinking water availability to beneficiaries and proper functioning of the units. Furthermore, TKM’s collaboration with local Gram Panchayats and the community bodies has played an important role in the seamless implementation of these initiatives, fostering a shared sense of ownership and collective responsibility.
Cumulatively, TKM has installed 48 water units, reaching out to 297 villages, and serving a population of 3.32 lakhs people. This significant milestone exemplifies TKM’s unwavering dedication to prioritizing the well-being of community members, ultimately contributing to their holistic socio-economic development.
