This accolade highlights Werner’s steadfast dedication to reducing carbon emissions through innovative operations, fleet improvements, and advanced technology.

Werner has pledged to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 55 percent by 2035. The company actively explores and tests sustainable truck models, alternative energy and fuel options, and other innovations aimed at boosting fuel efficiency and reducing engine idling. Werner’s 2024 objectives include further reporting and testing new strategies to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Heavy Duty Trucking’s Top Green Fleets program honors leaders in sustainability across all types and sizes of trucking fleets. The evaluation criteria include fleet electrification, alternative and renewable fuels, cleaner-burning engines, fuel and freight efficiency, green facilities, and the testing of new sustainable technologies. Companies are recognized for their green fleet initiatives, improved sustainability practices, environmental footprint, ESG goals, and future green projects.
