Werner® Recognized as a Top Green Fleet of 2024 by Heavy Duty Trucking

Werner®, a leading transportation and logistics provider, is thrilled to announce its recognition as a 2024 Top Green Fleet by Heavy Duty Trucking. This accolade highlights Werner’s steadfast dedication to reducing carbon emissions through innovative operations, fleet improvements, and advanced technology.

Chad Dittberner, Senior Vice President of the One-Way Truckload Network and Innovation Council Leader at Werner, remarked, “We are honored to be listed among the top 15 companies tackling the carbon challenges in the transportation sector. This award from Heavy Duty Trucking validates our ongoing efforts to establish a scalable sustainability framework. Werner has pledged to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 55 percent by 2035. The company actively explores and tests sustainable truck models, alternative energy and fuel options, and other innovations aimed at boosting fuel efficiency and reducing engine idling. Werner’s 2024 objectives include further reporting and testing new strategies to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Heavy Duty Trucking’s Top Green Fleets program honors leaders in sustainability across all types and sizes of trucking fleets. The evaluation criteria include fleet electrification, alternative and renewable fuels, cleaner-burning engines, fuel and freight efficiency, green facilities, and the testing of new sustainable technologies. Companies are recognized for their green fleet initiatives, improved sustainability practices, environmental footprint, ESG goals, and future green projects.
