WEX & Circle K Expand Partnership to Innovate Fleet Management

WEX Extends Strategic Partnership with Circle K to Enhance Fleet Management and Customer Experience

WEX, a global commerce platform dedicated to simplifying business operations, has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with global convenience retailer Circle K. This extension strengthens a relationship that has spanned over 15 years, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to enhancing fleet management and improving customer experience through innovation and technology.

The renewed agreement focuses on expanding existing business fuel card programs while also developing customized software solutions tailored to the evolving needs of fleet operators. Additionally, Circle K has become an accepting merchant for 10-4 by WEX, a mobile app designed to provide independent truckers and small trucking companies with access to fuel discounts traditionally reserved for larger enterprises.

Expanding Fuel Savings and Efficiency for Truckers

One of the most significant developments in this extended partnership is the inclusion of Circle K locations in the 10-4 by WEX discount network. With more than 6,800 company-owned sites across the U.S., Circle K now accepts the 10-4 app at over 60% of the more than 475 locations offering high-flow diesel services. These locations provide truck drivers with not just fuel but a quick and convenient stop for food, beverages, and essential supplies.

Furthermore, truckers who fuel up at Circle K can take advantage of the Inner Circle loyalty program, offering additional in-store incentives that help them maximize their savings. This initiative underscores both WEX and Circle K’s dedication to delivering cost-effective fueling solutions while enhancing the overall customer experience.

Aaron Brooks, Circle K’s SVP of Real Estate and Fuel Customer, emphasized the importance of expanding their services for truckers, stating:

“We are always looking for ways to make life a little easier for our customers, both at our pumps and on their wallets. Now, by expanding the range of customers who can access discounts and more tech-forward options, we’re building on that payments foundation to double-down on our collective commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.”

A Strengthened Partnership Across WEX Business Lines

The extended agreement fortifies collaboration between Circle K and WEX across multiple WEX business divisions, including North America Mobility (NAM), Over-the-Road (OTR), and Professional Services. Each of these business lines plays a crucial role in delivering seamless fuel payment and management solutions to commercial fleet operators and independent truckers.

Brian Fournier, Americas SVP & GM, Fleet at WEX, highlighted the significance of this extended partnership:

“This renewed agreement is a testament to the strong relationship we have built with Circle K over the years and our shared commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Deepening our technological integrations and broadening our combined efforts to expand access to discounts will provide fleet customers with greater convenience and flexibility when managing their fuel expenses.”

Nationwide Fuel Discount Programs

Launched in October 2024, 10-4 by WEX is a free mobile app designed to help independent truckers and small trucking companies save on fuel costs. By providing access to a vast discount network across U.S.-based truck stops, this platform eliminates the need for credit checks, applications, or physical cards at the pump. Truckers using the app can instantly access fuel discounts, making it easier for them to manage expenses and maximize savings.

Beyond 10-4, Circle K is also a participating merchant in WEX EDGE, one of the largest high-flow diesel fuel discount networks in the country. With more than 4,000 locations nationwide, WEX EDGE offers trucking companies and independent operators substantial savings, helping them reduce one of their biggest operational costs—fuel. By participating in both 10-4 and WEX EDGE, Circle K is providing truckers with multiple ways to optimize their fueling expenses while ensuring that they have access to a seamless, user-friendly fueling experience.

Tim Hampton, WEX Senior Vice President and General Manager of Over-the-Road, emphasized the importance of these fuel discount programs for independent truckers:

“On average, independent truckers spend approximately $50,000 on fuel every year—almost a third of their total expenses, and that’s even before anything is left over for themselves—which is why every cent matters. With these discount programs, we aim to support these important pillars of America’s economy by putting money back in their pocket with every gallon purchased – and keeping it simple so they can get back on the road quickly.”

WEX’s Growing Impact in Fleet Management

WEX has cemented itself as a leader in B2B financial technology, processing approximately $231 billion in total volume in 2024 alone. The company’s technological innovations support more than 600,000 commercial fleet customers globally, servicing around 19.8 million commercial vehicles worldwide.

Through its continued partnership with Circle K, WEX is reinforcing its mission to streamline fleet management and provide cutting-edge solutions that help businesses and independent operators navigate an increasingly complex transportation industry.

The Future of the WEX-Circle K Partnership

The extension of the WEX-Circle K relationship signals a future of enhanced innovation in fleet payment solutions and fuel management. As the transportation industry continues to evolve, both companies are committed to leveraging technology to simplify operations, reduce costs, and improve the overall experience for fleet managers and truck drivers alike.

By integrating advanced digital payment platforms, expanding discount networks, and continuously innovating customer loyalty programs, WEX and Circle K are positioning themselves as leaders in the mobility and fleet management sector. Their shared vision for the future revolves around greater efficiency, enhanced savings, and seamless customer interactions.

As fleets continue to embrace digital transformation, partnerships like this one will become increasingly critical in ensuring that transportation professionals have access to reliable, cost-effective, and technologically advanced solutions that keep them moving forward.
