ZIPS Car Wash is celebrating the completion of renovations at three Central Kentucky locations with a special customer appreciation weekend featuring complimentary car washes, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, exclusive membership promotions, giveaways, and recognition of local military families through the company’s partnership with Folds of Honor.

The first ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. at the ZIPS Car Wash location at 1250 S. Broadway in Lexington. The event will be held in partnership with Commerce Lexington and will officially recognize the completion of the renovation project at the location.
The celebration will continue on Friday, July 24, at noon with another ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Georgetown location at 104 Osborne Way. ZIPS will hold the event alongside the Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.
The ceremonies are expected to bring together ZIPS representatives, local business leaders, community members, customers, and other guests to celebrate the company’s continued presence and investment in the Central Kentucky market.
ZIPS to Recognize Folds of Honor Scholarship Recipients
The grand reopening events will also highlight ZIPS Car Wash’s national partnership with Folds of Honor, an organization that provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled service members.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the 1250 S. Broadway location, ZIPS will recognize four local scholarship recipients from Berea, Kentucky. The recipients are siblings from the Romine family:
- Eloise Hailey Romine, a second-grade student
- Lennon Ray Romine, a rising fifth-grade student
- Allen “AJ” Jacob Romine, a rising 10th-grade student
- Hunter Nathaniel Romine, a rising 12th-grade student
The four students are the children of Specialist Alec Ray Romine, who served more than six years in the U.S. Army as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist and Infantryman.
During his military service, Specialist Romine deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was later disabled in the line of duty and received the Purple Heart in recognition of his service and sacrifice.
Through its relationship with Folds of Honor, ZIPS Car Wash is helping support the educational journeys of the Romine siblings while recognizing the sacrifices made by their family. The scholarship program is designed to help military families pursue educational opportunities and reduce some of the financial challenges associated with higher education.
Georgetown Student Also Receives Scholarship Recognition
The Georgetown ribbon-cutting ceremony will include recognition of another local Folds of Honor scholarship recipient, Audryana Scarlett Harris.
A Georgetown resident, Harris is currently a sophomore at Transylvania University. She is studying Pre-Law, International Law, and Political Science and plans to pursue a career in international law at the highest levels of government.
Harris is the daughter of Staff Sgt. Jonathan Keith Harris, who served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army. During his military career, he worked as a Radio and COMSEC Repairer and CBRN Specialist.
Staff Sgt. Harris completed multiple deployments to Iraq and was disabled in the line of duty. His military service and sacrifice have helped make his daughter eligible for support through the Folds of Honor scholarship program.
ZIPS said recognizing scholarship recipients such as Harris and the Romine siblings reflects the company’s commitment to supporting military families and contributing to the communities in which it operates.
