– Nissan Formula E Team will be looking to subsidize their recent qualifying speed as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship travels to Rome for the penultimate race weekend of the 2022/23 season.
Both Sacha Fenestraz and Norman Nato have shown strong one- stage pace in recent events, with the brace lining up second and third on the grid independently last time out in Portland.
Now, the platoon is aiming to convert that qualifying pace into points as it takes on the double- title in the Italian capital, with Formula E set to visit the megacity for the fifth time.
Debuting on the timetable in 2018, the Circuito Cittadinodell’EUR is a motorist and suckers’ favourite thanks to its gruelling layout. The3.38- kilometre track features 19 corners and winds past several Roman milestones, including the Marconi Obelisk and Palazzo dei Congressi.
Tommaso Volpe, managing director and platoon star, of Nissan Formula E Team” Rome is a veritably different circuit to Portland. It’s bumpy, low grip and has smaller high-speed corners. The one-stage pace is surely our strength right now, and qualifying will be pivotal then, as the track is narrower and there are lower catching openings. We also have the FP0 in Rome, which will give our sim motorist Luca an occasion to get out on track at his home race and help us prepare for the event. Luca has experience with the auto and he has been working a lot on this track in the simulator, so the data from this session with him will be veritably precious for us.
” To be quick in Rome, we’ll need to manage the bumps well- motorists must have full confidence in the auto on such a grueling circuit. We brought several updates to the last round in Portland, and we believe they will make indeed further a difference on a track like Rome. We are also awaiting there to be a lower emphasis on energy saving, which will change the way we attack the weekend.”

Norman Nato, motorist, Nissan Formula E Team” I love the Rome layout, it’s one of the stylish tracks on the timetable. It’s a proper road circuit, with a bumpy layout. I have always had a good feeling at this venue ever since my novitiate time. Over the last couple of months, we have bettered our performance in qualifying and the race, and we are fastening on showing our pace in Rome and scoring explosively on both days.”

The FP0 is a one-off session, so it’ll be an occasion for brigades to get further time on track and prepare for the event. I am happy to have this occasion to help the platoon this weekend.”
