The “2024 Taiwan Car of the Year Car News Awards,” an annual event hosted by the esteemed car magazine “Yishou Car News,” saw the participation of prominent domestic car media representatives in Taiwan. Among 76 shortlisted models, the YARiS CROSS and CROWN, vehicles under TOYOTA’s general agent Hotai Motors, emerged victorious. The YARiS CROSS won the “2024 Best Domestic Small SUV” award, while the CROWN clinched the “2024 Best Imported Large Car” award.
The YARiS CROSS, highly popular among young people since its launch in late September last year, boasts a compact design with a minimum turning radius of just 5.2 meters. It is powered by a newly tuned 1.5-liter Dual VVT-i engine, achieving an impressive average fuel consumption of 17.5 km/l, thus offering excellent fuel efficiency and reducing overall car costs for consumers. Additionally, the YARiS CROSS features a spacious luggage compartment of 458 liters, capable of accommodating two 20-inch suitcases in the lower storage space. The CROWN, which garnered the “2024 Best Imported Large Car” award, has been a favorite among high-end customers since its launch in 2022. Known for its exquisite craftsmanship, superior performance, and comfortable driving experience, the CROWN’s interior is designed with an “all-seat first-class cabin” concept. The inclusion of soft leather on the side door trim panels enhances ride comfort, while the dark gray piano paint material used for cabin trim panels exudes a distinguished feel. The CROWN Royal Edition features a DRS rear-wheel active steering system, seamlessly integrated with the VDIM vehicle dynamic integrated management system, offering precise rear-wheel steering angle adjustments for a more agile and stable driving experience.
