Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive and SUV manufacturer, proudly celebrates a historic milestone with over 2 million SUVs on Indian roads. The diverse SUV lineup, featuring the Safari, Harrier, Nexon, Punch, and the iconic Sierra and Safari nameplates, has been instrumental in reaching this achievement. These robust SUVs have defined their segments, showcasing Tata Motors’ commitment to best-in-class safety, cutting-edge design, and advanced technologies, aligning with customer expectations and earning the title of the true ‘King of SUVs.’
Since launching India’s first SUV, the Tata Sierra, in 1991, Tata Motors has consistently pioneered the SUV category. From showcasing the Nexon, India’s first compact SUV concept, at the 2014 Auto Expo, to introducing the sub-compact SUV Punch, Tata Motors boasts the largest portfolio of 5-star rated B-NCAP and G-NCAP SUVs. This pioneering spirit has set the standard for the SUV segment in India.
Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., commented on this special occasion: “Our deep understanding of the SUV segment and ability to cater to every customer need helps us maintain consistency and leadership in the market. Supported by our multi-powertrain strategy, we aim to provide Indian consumers with world-class SUVs that are robust, safe, and technologically advanced. Reaching the 2 million SUV sales mark is a testament to this approach and sets the pace for future growth in the SUV category.”
To celebrate this achievement, Tata Motors is launching the King of SUVs festival. The starting prices of flagship SUVs, the Harrier (₹14.99 lakhs) and the Safari (₹15.49 lakhs), have been revised, with benefits up to ₹1.4 lakhs on popular variants. For electric vehicles, unprecedented benefits on the Nexon.ev (up to ₹1.3 lakhs) make it more accessible than ever. Additionally, the Punch.ev offers benefits up to ₹30,000. The 7 in 7 celebration of the 7 lakh Nexons on the road continues due to popular demand.
Tata Motors’ relentless innovation and customer-centric approach continue to redefine the SUV market, ensuring they remain at the forefront of the automotive industry in India.
