Soracom Presents IoT Connected Car Concept at AECC Conference

Soracom, a global IoT platform provider with MVNO capabilities, announced its upcoming showcase of a proof of concept (PoC) for secure, next-generation network architecture connecting cars to their OEM cloud at the AECC All-Member Meeting in Berlin, Germany, from October 22–24, 2024. Developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation, this PoC aligns with the Automotive Edge Computing Consortium’s (AECC) mission to advance connectivity in vehicular, computing, and network technologies.

Since joining the AECC in May 2024, Soracom has partnered with leading mobile network operators (MNOs), automakers, and cloud providers to establish standards and technologies for connected cars. “We’re excited to work with Toyota on this PoC,” said Kenta Yasukawa, Ph.D., CTO and co-founder of Soracom. “This collaboration is a major step toward a secure, seamless connectivity solution for automotive ecosystems.”

The AECC’s All-Member Meeting, themed “Driving Connectivity, Advancing Mobility,” will feature live PoC demos on October 23. The AECC, a cross-industry nonprofit, is dedicated to developing efficient, distributed network architectures to meet the data demands of intelligent vehicle services.
