BYD Unveils the BYD TANG in Costa Rica, Enhancing the Local NEV Lineup

 BYD introduced its flagship pure electric SUV, the BYD TANG, to Costa Rica. The launch event, titled “Una Nueva Mirada al Futuro” (A New Look at the Future), drew over 100 local entrepreneurs, government officials, and media guests.

The BYD TANG is a luxurious seven-seater all-electric SUV, complete with premium Nappa leather seats. The largest touchscreen in BYD SUVs – an impressive 15.6 inches – is featured in the BYD TANG. The intelligent cockpit system by BYD provides an intuitive way to navigate the vehicle’s numerous features, ensuring a smooth, smart driving experience. Moreover, the car features 31-color interactive intelligent cabin ambient lighting, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that respond intuitively. It delivers a formidable power output of up to 510 hp, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, and boasts an impressive comprehensive range of 635 km. The new model is powered by a 108.8 kWh ultra-safe Blade Battery, ensuring top-tier performance and cruising range for an unparalleled driving experience.

Mr. Zhai Chengyu, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica, said, “In recent years, China’s new energy vehicles have seen rapid development, with our new energy market leading the global stage. Marco Acuña Mora, Executive President of the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE), and Carlos Mejía, Vice Minister of Strategic Management, attended the event. They emphasized the Costa Rican government’s support for new energy vehicles, as well as the automotive industry’s commitment to innovation and the importance of sustainable development.
