Generational Group Advises Fleet Safety International on its Sale to We Know Training

Generational Group, a leading advisor in mergers and acquisitions for privately held businesses, proudly announces the sale of its client, Fleet Safety International (FSI), to We Know Training. The transaction was finalized on June 10, 2024.

We Know Training, headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, is an international provider of technology-enabled learning solutions. With this acquisition, they have expanded their educational services into the driver safety industry, providing a platform for FSI’s continued growth and innovation.

Established in 1986, Fleet Safety International (FSI) is a distinguished provider of online driver education and in-vehicle training based in Calgary, Alberta. FSI is known for its research and behavior-based driver education solutions, setting the standard for driver training in Canada.

“Fleet Safety International has been providing industry-leading driver safety solutions for over 40 years, and we’re excited to welcome them to the We Know Training team,” said Chris LaBossiere, President and CEO of We Know Training. “Their forward-thinking approach to driver safety and commitment to industry innovation is what drew us to them.”

Both companies will maintain their respective structures during an initial integration period before eventually merging operations and training solutions under the We Know Training brand.

“By combining our two companies, we’ve created a structure that enhances the driver safety training ecosystem through a shared knowledge base and broader reach,” said Dr. Randy Flemmer, President of FSI, who will stay on in an advisory capacity. “This merger means greater capacity to innovate and improve driver safety, equipping more drivers with the skills to reduce collision rates across Canada and beyond.”

Executive Managing Director, Western Region, Lori Galloway, along with Managing Director of M&A Ted Rattenberry, successfully closed the transaction, with Senior Managing Director Terry Stidham establishing the initial relationship with FSI.

Rattenberry expressed his enthusiasm for the future of the integrated operation: “The collaboration between We Know Training and Fleet Safety International will surely lead to continued innovation in customized training solutions for driver safety.
