Ferrari Gears Up for Action in the Netherlands and Japan
DTM and ADAC Masters at Zandvoort. The DTM and ADAC Masters championships return with an exciting “away race” at the Dutch track of Zandvoort. The DTM championship heads into its third round on the iconic 4,259-meter track known for its characteristic dunes. Emil Frey Racing will field two Ferrari 296 GT3s: Jack Aitken in car number 14 and Thierry Vermeulen in car number 69. Both drivers aim to recover from challenging sessions at Lausitzring, with Vermeulen particularly motivated as the only Dutch driver in the lineup, eager to excel on his home circuit.
The first DTM race begins at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the second session at 4:30 p.m.
The ADAC GT Masters season also continues at Zandvoort, coinciding with the DTM championship. Last year, Emil Frey Racing won both races at this venue. This year, the team enters the number 14 Ferrari 296 GT3, driven by Jean-Luc D’Auria and Alain Valente, who secured seventh and sixth places in the previous round at Oschersleben.
Race 1 is scheduled from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, with Race 2 set for Sunday from 1:25 to 2:25 p.m.
Japan Cup at Sportsland Sugo. In Japan, the new Japan Cup season kicks off at the Sportsland Sugo track in Miyagi Prefecture, alongside the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Japan. This year, the Japan Cup is no longer part of the GT World Challenge Asia. Two Ferrari 296 GT3s are entered in this new format, including reigning Am class champions Yosuke Yamazaki and Yodan Tsujiko from the Comet Racing team, determined to defend their title. The K-Tunes Racing team will field the second car, number 98, with drivers Daisuke Yamawaki and Shinichi Takagi competing in the Pro Am class.
After qualifying on Saturday, the two races will take place on Sunday from 10:30 to 11:35 a.m. and from 3:15 to 4:20 p.m. (all times local).
