GWM Thailand Announced as Mobility Partner for 62nd AALCO Session

GWM (Thailand) has partnered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve as the official mobility and logistics partner for the 62nd Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), reinforcing its role in the mobility sector. On September 6, GWM (Thailand) provided TANK 300 HEV and TANK 500 HEV models to the Ministry to support the transportation needs of international delegates from over 47 member countries across Asia and Africa during the event.

The handover ceremony was attended by Ms. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Director-General of the Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, and Mr. Sompop Sermswatsri, Director of the Legal Affairs Division. Chong Baoyu, General Manager of GWM (Thailand), emphasized the company’s pride in contributing to the conference, stating, “We are honored to be chosen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide new energy vehicles for the event, allowing representatives to experience the future of transportation.”

GWM’s TANK series, known for its advanced off-road capabilities and hybrid technology, is a result of over 30 years of expertise in building rugged SUVs. The TANK models, popular for their blend of “urban and wild” features, are manufactured at GWM’s Rayong plant in Thailand. The TANK platform, developed with a five-year investment of 20 billion yuan, is China’s first and a globally leading intelligent off-road platform, designed to support various models across different markets.

Since their launch in Thailand, the TANK models have gained popularity in regions including Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and the Middle East. In 2023, the series achieved over 160,000 global sales, a 31% year-on-year growth, solidifying its position as China’s top-selling off-road brand overseas. The TANK 300 is the world’s second-best-selling rugged off-road vehicle, with accolades like a five-star ANCAP safety rating and the Australian Car of the Year Award. Similarly, the TANK 500 has seen widespread use in official procurement, especially in key off-road markets like the Middle East and Australia.
